Who is responsible for your data

Assize Data Ltd designs, hosts and runs this website for Theo Rhodon Lynn, and is the data controller for personal data processed through it. It is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office under number ZC270117, company number 17510115, and its registered office is c/o IWN Accountancy, The Echo Building, 18 Albert Road, Bournemouth, BH1 1BZ.

The contact form

The form on the home page asks for your name, your email address, what your message is about, and your message. They’re emailed to Theo Rhodon Lynn so that he can reply. They aren’t stored on this website, and they aren’t shared or added to any mailing list.

The lawful basis is the legitimate interest in replying to messages and keeping the form free of abuse and, where you’re asking about work, taking steps at your request before a contract.

Messages are kept in Theo Rhodon Lynn’s inbox for up to two years after the last contact with you. Ask at any time to have yours deleted. If your message leads to work, he keeps the details that work needs for as long as he needs to, including for tax records.

How visits are counted

When your browser opens a page, the server adds one to separate daily totals for:

• the page you opened
• the website that linked you here, if there was one (its domain only, such as instagram.com)
• the country Cloudflare reports for your connection
• whether you’re on a phone or a computer

The totals aren’t linked to each other or to you. Your IP address, your browser’s details and anything else that could recognise you aren’t stored, and nothing is stored on your device. Search engines, link previews and other automated visits are left out where they can be told apart, and so are visits from data-centre networks, which include some VPNs.

The lawful basis is the legitimate interest in knowing which pages people read and how they find the site. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, your visit isn’t counted at all.

Hosting and security

Cloudflare hosts this site. To deliver pages and protect the site from attacks, Cloudflare processes your IP address and the details your browser sends with each request. Assize Data can see short-lived technical logs of those requests, which are deleted after a few days and used only to fix faults.

Cloudflare also delivers the contact form’s emails, and runs Turnstile, the spam check on the form. Turnstile looks at technical signals from your browser to tell people from automated abuse, and this site receives only a pass or fail result. Google provides the inbox that messages arrive in.

Cloudflare and Google may process personal data outside the UK, including in the United States, under UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Addendum.

Cookies

This site doesn’t set any cookies of its own. Its fonts, images and scripts are served from this site, apart from Turnstile, which only loads on the home page, where the contact form is, and is there for security.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of any personal data held about you, ask for it to be corrected, deleted or restricted, or object to it being used. Email dataprotection@assizedata.co.uk, and you’ll get a reply within one month.

Complaints

If you’re unhappy with how your data has been handled, please contact dataprotection@assizedata.co.uk first. Your complaint will be acknowledged within 30 days, along with what happens next. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
